ABOUT BIG JOHN WHITFIELD

SINGER

Born in Oklahoma USA, he started his singing career at the early age of 8 as a gospel singer. John Whitfield came to Europe as an American Football player, after numerous injuries he decided to return to the microphone and found his passion for soulmusic.

After succefully working in Spain, Turkey and Greece as a Soul Singer, Big John settled down in Vienna, Austria. With his talent of bringing musicians and musiclovers together, he formed the ongoing Funk, Soul and Groove collection of Musicians called “The Vienna Soul Society” which perform all over Europe in countries like Switzerland, Russia, Georgia, Italy and Hungary to name a few. In addition Big John Whitfield is the Music Director and founder of the International Gospel Society. During Christmas and easter time this Gospel Choir is performing in several churches and concert halls all over Austria and abroad.

As one of the most sought out Soul vocalist in the Region Big John Whitfield recording and performing with known Djs and Bands such as Italian Acid Jazz Band Jestofunk, Megablast and Makossa, House Djs David Morales and Armand Van Helden, Dj MKS, Dj Scott, Karanyi, Mks Soulstar 500, Bollo, Pray for more, and many more! Also artist like Joss Stone took him as her opening act on her tour.
